Sitatunga is committed to minimising environmental degradation, maintaining an environment that is not harmful to humans, animals and plants by reducing its environmental impacts. This will be achieved by having in place a comprehensive mine management plan.

Sitatunga is dedicated to the conservation of natural resources and the protection of all living beings in and around its operations. Sitatunga complies with all applicable environmental legislation and has developed policies and programmes which pertain to the environment.

Sitatunga has developed an all-inclusive Environmental Management Programme (EMP) as per the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (MPRDA). The company’s environmental team includes environmental scientists and compliance officers to enforce compliance with environmental legislation.
